Plan B Viajero: Travelling as a Way of Life

Plan B Viajero are Gaby and Camilo, Argentine and Mexican who have been travelling through LatinAmerica since 2012. This adventure take them through 11 countries: Argentina, Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Panama, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Guatemala and finally, México. Responsible travelers, in 2015 they built their own bamboo bikes to visit this last country. Nowadays, they keep on travelling with they write content for their blog and work in other projects from their design agency: Mate Chingón.

Plan B Viajero have made the travel a way of life, following a philosophy we share 100%: : “We like to travel slow, with no rush. For us, travelling does not only imply moving from one place to another. That is why we like to stop and enjoy the calm of a place. Knowing the daily life, learning from the everydayness”.

The 3 tips from Gaby and Camilo for a Sustainable Vacation

1. Avoid disposable products

A good way to avoid them is to carry reusable containers with you. A water bottle, a stainless steel straw, a fabric bag…

2. Consume local products and services to contribute to the area development

Supporting local businesses implies supporting responsible consumption logics. Not only it boosts local producers and their products (which generally are more eco-friendly), but it also generates awareness about the economic and social implications of the big brands way of production.

3. Be responsible with animals

Many times we feel the urge to know, see and do activities with animals while travelling. But behind the scenes there are situations we are not aware of. It is very important to inform about the conditions of the animals in activities such as swimming with dolphins, routes with elephants or horses, etc. And even when the activities are performed with animals in the wild, it does not mean they are free from negative impacts in the speciaes and environment. This is why it is advisable to only observe animals, rather than interacting with them.
